Welcome!
I am happy that you dropped by. My goal for Elizabeth’s Humble Heart blog is simply to share my faith in Jesus and the path I am on. It is my prayer that any scriptures I offer, references to the word, or opinions I offer will be pleasing to God. I have been wanting to have this type of blog for years, but just put it off. I never felt qualified, ready, or brave enough to really step out and voice my beliefs, question our culture, or actually, just wonder out loud about things that in today’s world that would be considered not very politically correct.
But, my heart has felt led to do this for some time now and so here I am. This won’t be a blog filled with pretty pictures like my regular readers are accustomed to. No, this will be a place where I would like to address issues, concerns, and maybe even confusion in a tech-modern, celebrity-obsessed culture that seems to push Christians out, and welcome everyone else in. I am not out to insult, condemn, or judge what is or isn’t right with the world. I really, just really, would like to share my journey, my God, and the challenges of living faithfully according to God’s word in today’s demanding world. I will always be sincere, but want to enjoy the journey with some humor and some lightheartedness as well. I believe we were designed to enjoy God’s company – not fear it, dread it, or resent it, but look forward to it – even crave it. The way I look at it is pretty simple. If I made a new friend that was just the most talented, fantastic, loving, compassionate, wisest person I ever laid eyes on, I wouldn’t hesitate to blog about her, put her on Instagram, and introduce her to all my friends’ so they can know my new great friend as well. Well, Jesus is that friend. And yet, I really don’t spend that much time with Him, introduce my friends to Him, or even go to Him as often as I should to thank Him for all that has been given freely to me.
Well, please meet Jesus, my Savior, friend, protector, and someone I am hoping to get to know even better.
There are a couple of subjects that interest me greatly that I will probably focus on in the beginning of this new blog: Marriage, Proverbs 31 Woman, Modern Culture, and Discernment. These are topics that I find interesting as this journey begins, and I am praying that I learn a lot from my readers, I glorify Jesus, and most importantly, learn to lean more on God for guidance in my daily living – which means, read my bible more! I also pray that my words touch you in a way that will make you want to seek Jesus, learn about Him, and know that you are truly loved and cherished.
